Free holiday card list template

A simple list for every card you send and receive. Keep it from year to year, and print the address labels when it is time to post.

Free while in beta · no card needed

How it works

  1. Download the template. Choose the Excel (.xlsx) file, or the CSV file for Google Sheets or Numbers.
  2. Fill it in, one household per row. Delete the two grey example rows first. Mark Yes or No under Card sent 2026 and Card received 2026.
  3. Paste the list into LabelPeel. Copy the rows with the heading row, or upload the file. Pick your sheet, check the labels, and print.

Make address labels from your list

What is in the template

The first seven columns are the address columns. LabelPeel reads these headings, so keep them as they are.

ColumnWhat goes in it
NameThe name on the envelope, such as Mr. and Mrs. David Brown
Address, Address 2The street and any apartment or suite line
City, State, ZIP, CountryThe town, state, ZIP code and country (leave Country blank in the US)
Card sent 2026Yes or No, for the cards you sent this year
Card received 2026Yes or No, for the cards that came to you
NotesAnything you want to remember, such as a photo card or a new address

The two example rows show the format. Replace them with your own list.

Use it in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers

  • Excel: Double-click the .xlsx file. The heading row stays on the screen as you scroll, and the arrow buttons let you filter by Yes or No.
  • Google Sheets: Click File › Import, choose the Upload tab, and pick the CSV or Excel file.
  • Numbers: Open the CSV or .xlsx file with File › Open. Check that ZIP codes still show their leading zeros.

Make labels from your list

  1. Copy the rows from the heading row down, and paste them into LabelPeel. You can also upload the saved file.
  2. Pick Avery® 5160 for 30 labels on a sheet, or pick a smaller sheet if your list is long.
  3. Ask the AI helper to change the list. Try "only keep the rows where Card sent 2026 is No" to find people you still need to send to, or "sort by ZIP" to bundle the post.
  4. Print a test page on plain paper, then print on your labels at 100% or Actual size.

Keep the list from year to year

A card list is easiest to use when it changes a little each year. In October, copy last year's file to a new file, and rename the two Card headings for the new year. Work down the list, mark who you will send to, and add any new families. Check the notes before you post, because a note such as a new address or a move is easy to forget.

When the cards come back, mark Yes under Card received for the year. You can then filter the list to see who has not sent one yet, and decide whether to send a card next time.

Ideas you can type

  • "Only keep the rows where Card received 2026 is Yes."
  • "Sort by ZIP."
  • "Make the labels festive, with a red border."
  • "Make the first line big and bold."

Tips

  • Use the same name on every card, so people know who it is from.
  • Update the list when someone moves. Change the address in the same row, and add a note in Notes.
  • Keep last year's file. Copy it to a new file each year, so the old list stays safe.
  • Print a test page on plain paper before you print on the labels.
